The 911 Center is staffed by 10 full-time employees. We are staffed with a minimum of 2 dispatchers on duty 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
All of our employees have attended a Basic Public Safety Dispatcher course, NCIC/TIES Certification and CPR Certification totaling over 104 hours of classroom training within their first six months of employment. In addition, all new hires go through a minimum of 4 weeks of on the job training, conducted by specially trained Communications Training Officers (CTO's).
In order to keep our skills current, we hold regular refresher and in-service training and attend specialized dispatch schools. Some of the schools attended include Incident Command Systems, Hazardous Materials, Communications Center Supervisor, Orders of Protection Training, Communications Training Officer, Homeland Security, Fire Dispatch, Domestic Violence Intervention, Active Shooting Response, Suicide Intervention and Handling Wireless Phase II calls.
